Personally, “I love Jakarta”! It has a strong correlation to my culinary style, a melting pot of cultures, exploration and innovation.

Chef Akira Back’s professional career took a turn. From being a professional snowboarder, he transitioned seamlessly into the culinary world, making him the youngest Executive Chef at Nobu Matsuhisa. Later on in his career he propelled his success and established restaurants amongst many like Yellowtail, Kumi and ABSteak by Chef Akira Back. 

Renowned for his daring interpretations, Chef Back has graced esteemed platforms such as Food Network’s “Iron Chef America,” where he engaged in a captivating culinary duel with Iron Chef Bobby Flay. His culinary artistry has also left its indelible mark on NBC’s “The Today Show” and Food Network’s “Best Thing I Ever Ate,” solidifying his status as a culinary luminary. Notably, Chef Akira Back earned a coveted spot in the Michelin Guide list in 2019 for Akira Back restaurant in Singapore.

After securing a spot in the Michelin Guide list in Singapore, Chef Akira Back further expanded his horizons and stamped his mark Jakarta. Acclaiming its title to be the largest AB Steak by Chef Akira Back in the world and one of the pioneers to create lifestyle dining through the combination of ABSteak by Chef Akira Back and ABar.

ABSteak by Chef Akira back, takes its refined approach towards Korean Barbeque. Luxuriously styled, our restaurant spans over 1000 square meters, 9 Private rooms, along with a seating capacity of about 130 pax. Our space provides a customizable design Videotron that you can customize according to your event needs.
